Echo Entertainment top brass say its more about entertainment than gambling and being a casino these days. Well, this Friday its party time at The Star, and there's not doubting the quality of many of the international acts that The Star has showcased over the past year or so. They continue to play the celebrity card, and then there's the nightclubs, bars and The Darling - the 5 star hotel. What more could you ask for? Of course, there's gaming tables and slots if that's your thing also.

Background...

The Star's recent redevelopment has seen the opening of a number of new venues which will showcase special events and entertainment, including a party at the new five-star hotel called The Darling, a fashion event in the upscale retail area, chart-topping entertainment in the live music bar Rock Lily and sporting personalities in the 24/7 Sports Bar.

Guests will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with celebrities as part of the festivities, including special guest DJ Alex Dimitriades and singer Zoe Badwi in The Darling Party. While in Rock Lily the crowds will enjoy tunes by Australian indie band British India, sporting celebrities set to attend the party in 24/7 Sports Bar include NRL greats Wendell Sailor, Benji Marshall, Paul Gallen and South Sydney Rabbitohs players.

Celebrity Apprentice star and glamour sportswoman Lauryn Eagle will be hosting the festivities at the after party in the cocktail bar, Cherry.

Who's coming:

Lauryn Eagle, Alex Dimitriades, Zoe Badwi, British India, Wendell Sailor, Benji Marshall and Paul Gallen.

Ed: we don't expect James Packer from Crown Limited (Crown Casino fame) will be on the invite list, but stranger things have happened. James is apparently interested in a major share of The Star, if you didn't already hear.

The Star's tag line is 'There will be stories', so you'll just have to turn up to know what the score is for real punters.
