English heart-throb Hugh Grant is going to come to Australia for the premiere of his brand new stop-motion animated film The Pirates! Band of Misfits, which has been produced by Sony Pictures Animation and Aardman Animations (Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run).
The Pirates! Band of Misfits opens in cinemas on Thursday, April 5 and stars Grant in his first animated role, as well as David Tennant, Imelda Staunton, Martin Freeman, Jeremy Piven, Salma Hayek, Brian Blessed, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey and Ashley Jensen.
Grant stars as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain - a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a crew of misfit goofballs at his side, and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz and win the much coveted Pirate of the Year Award.
