Sydney FC will host its inaugural Ladies Lunch event on March 19 at Matt Moran and Peter
Sullivan’s new restaurant, CHISWICK in Woollahra.
The Ladies Lunch will be hosted by Sydney FC and Socceroos star Brett Emerton and Alina
Barlow, wife of Sydney FC Vice Chairman Scott Barlow and step-daughter of major
shareholder David Traktovenko.
The event will bring together some of the women who have supported the club since the ALeague’s
inception while introducing new ladies to the Club for the first time as Sydney FC
moves towards the climax of the 2011/12 A-League season.
Glamorous Fox Sports presenter, Mel McLaughlin will MC the event with the 100 strong
guest list including Karin Upton-Baker, Romy Frydman, Maggie Tabberer,
Skye Leckie, Gai Waterhouse, Amber Keating, Hoda Waterhouse, Alexandra Agoston and
Samantha Harris.
The theme for the event takes its cue from the Club colour – Sky Blue. The dress code is
‘shades of blue’ and the blue colourway will be maintained throughout the space with
displays of the signature dark blue Venvela Zulu rose created by Saskia Havekes of
Grandiflora, royal blue crystal ware from Waterford and Pommery champagne with its
distinctive blue label will be poured. Models will wear looks from the new Arthur Galan
collection paired with pieces designed by Fairfax & Roberts bespoke jewellers.
While the ladies will rule the day, the gentlemen will not be completely absent with a member
of the Sydney FC team at each table, including Marquee players Brett Emerton and Nick
Carle, Captain Terry McFlynn, Pascal Bosschaart, Rhyan Grant, Ivan Necevski and Joel
Chianese.
Matt Moran’s team will prepare a ladylike feast which includes grilled scallops with
artichokes and tarragon, steamed trevalla with garden herbs, olive oil and lemon and a trio of
desserts including white chocolate pannacotta with fresh berries, Carmelia éclair with
almonds and sugar plums and poached beurre bosc pear with green tea ice cream.
The inaugural Sydney FC ladies lunch is supported by Fairfax & Roberts whose handcrafted
jewellery will be worn by Alina Barlow, MC Mel McLaughlin and models from Chic.
Fairfax & Roberts are providing an exquisite prize, a 2.13ct Aquamarine cushion cut
gemstone, along with a design consultation with their highly esteemed European creative
director, Thierry Martin. The value of the prize is $3,000.
